Country News: Urban and Underwood to Perform Together at Grammy’s

Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban will perform together during the 2017 Grammy Awards. Urban and Underwood spent much of December on tour together in Australia and New Zealand. No further details about their Grammys collaboration are known, but Urban’s newest studio album, Ripcord, includes a duet with Underwood, called ‘The Fighter.’

Country News: Blake Shelton, Big Winner At People’s Choice Award

Blake Shelton was a big winner at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards: The country star was nominated in three categories, including two all-genre categories, and took home two trophies. In addition to earning a win in the Favorite Male Country Artist category, Shelton received the all-genre Favorite Album award — the first country artist to do so in the history of the PCAs. Carrie Underwood took home Favorite Female Country Artist, and Little Big Town earned Favorite Country Group.

The Oak Ridge Boys have accomplished plenty in their more than 40 years together: They’ve released dozens of albums and toured all over the world; they’ve racked up more than 20 major awards, including five Grammys; they’ve become members of the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame and it looks like they will put out a new album in 2017. The Oak Ridge Boys last released a new studio project, Rock of Ages, Hymns and Gospel Favorites, in 2015.

Country News: Jake Owen to Have Baseball Field Named After Him

Jake Owen loves sports almost as much as music, and soon, the singer will be able to see his name on a baseball field! Jake Owen Field is set to open this summer in the country star’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. NASCAR driver and long time friend Kevin Harvick made the announcement during the NASCAR champion’s yearly fundraiser. A Youth Development Park that’s scheduled to open in the summer of 2017 in Vero Beach will be named in his honor.

Blake Shelton has been announced as a performer for the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. Shelton is nominated for three awards at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. Favorite Male Country Artist and the all-genre Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album categories; The Voice, the TV singing competition on which Shelton is a judge, is also nominated for an award, for Favorite Competition TV show. The 2017 People’s Choice Awards are set to air on January 18 on CBS at 9PM.

I finally ventured out last night and watched the movie of the year...50 Shades of Grey.  I have read all 3 books and have been anticipating the release of this hot steamy flick.  So, I have high expectations when it comes movies based off of books.  I always want it to be better than the book...and since this book was so poorly written, making a great movie should be an easy task.
