Damariscotta Beautiful at Pumpkinfest

If you've never been to the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest, you missed out again this year! It was so much fun!

You need to watch the giant pumpkins that have been carved out to become boats! The races always come down to the wire! And when Larry and Don yell "Ready? Set? Get Wet!" the paddlers do their darnedest to navigate through the cold Maine waters around the pumpkin buoys to come in first!

Cardinals and Dodgers Game 2, 12th Longest in MLB Playoff History

On Saturday, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the LA Dodgers 1-0 to take a 2-0 lead in the NLCS but it was Game 1 of the series on Friday that made history. The Cardinals won that game 3-2 in 13 innings making it the 12th longest game in MLB post season history. Game 3 is tonight.

Randy’s College Football Wrap Up Week 7

Week 7 of college football saw four upsets in the top 20. Number 5 Stanford fell to unranked Utah 27-21, Utah’s first win against a top 5 opponent in school history. After outlasting LSU last week, #7 Georgia lost to #25 Missouri 41-26, the first time Missouri beat a top 10 team on the road in 32 years.

Superman License Plates on Sale in Ohio

The man of steel is coming to Ohio as an aluminum license plate. The State is selling Superman license plates with the super ‘S’ on them to recognize the Superman comic book being created in Ohio. Starting this month plates will be available for an extra $20, plus the annual renewal few, and will come with the Superman logo, name, and the words ‘Truth, Justice, and the American Way’.

It seems impossible in this day and age to think that a football team could score 222 points in one game but it happened on October 7, 1916 as Georgia Tech beat Cumberland College of Lebanon, Tennessee 222-0. It all started in the spring of 1915 during a baseball game.
