Halloween

I don't wanna...you can't make me!  But, I have NO choice in the matter.  Capwell owes me BIG time for stepping up to the plate on this one.

Halloween is only three weeks away and it's time to start thinking about getting the pumpkins to decorate your home, for the kids to carve and for pumpkin pies. A great way to spend some time with your family is by going to a local pumpkin patch and picking out a pumpkin or two.

Now that Halloween is here there will be plenty of horror movies, and from those movies, we can learn a lesson in how not to die in a horror film. The rules can apply anytime of the year for any type of scary movie. Follow these simple rules and you’ll stay alive.

I'm the first to admit, I will play kids music in the car...alone.  Don't judge me.  But, because I have 6 kids, I am rarely 'alone' and therefore have an excuse to play crazy silly Halloween music.  These songs help me get excited and into the spirit.  Here are my 5 favorite songs to listen to in October.  I've added a bonus song to prepare you for what's right around the corner.

Have you heard of the story of The Carriage House Inn of Searsport, Maine? It was built in 1874 by Captain John McGilvery, prior to becoming an Inn, it was an army garrison and it was a longtime retreat for painter Waldo Peirce.

It seems, lately, clowns are popping up all over the country.  Creepy clowns.  All clowns are creepy, but these one are extra creepy.  Just when you think Maine is immune from such nonsense, clown sightings are reported in Orono.  It's worse than a zombie apocalypse.

Halloween is coming up fast and here are some interesting things about the day you may not know. The mask for the 1978 movie Halloween was a William Shatner Star Trek mask; it was used because the budget for the movie was tight so they got the cheapest mask they could find.

If you're looking for a creepy romantic (okay, more creepy than romantic) place to stay on an autumn getaway, there's probably no better place in Maine than at the Inn At The Agora in Lewiston.

It's the end of September, Halloween is right around the corner. It's time to start seeing more and more scary shows on TV. FX has finally started American Horror Story season 6 which is based on the show "A Haunting." Shows like "The Most Haunted Places On Earth" will soon be on and I couldn't be happier...

A haunted gravestone, a gruesome unsolved murder, and a cemetery dating back to a lost native tribe of Red Paint People are just some of the things that haunt this town.

Last year, I posted why I hate Fall.  Hate is such a strong word.  I've decided to change my thinking.  Try to find the positive, rather than focus on the negative (snow).  So, my attention this year will be what I love about Autumn.  Frankly, it is one of my favorite seasons.

Hard to believe 2016 is almost over.  To put it all into perspective, here's how many days are left until Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and more.  I purposely left out Winter...I don't feel that needs recognition.  Not a Winter fan.
