NewPage paper company will temporarily lay off around 120 hourly maintenance workers next week, that's according to mill spokesman Anthony Lyons. Lyons told the Lewiston Sun Journal that the layoffs are a 'cost containment and money-saving' move.
Four-year-old Jaydon Talbot of Harmony is recovering from the amputation of his right leg after he was caught in the blades of a lawn mower his father was driving. The accident happened this past Wednesday evening, when the boy's father was cutting the grass at their home.
Elizabeth Ireland from Old Town was angry after she found out that her 11-year old son was denied a hot lunch at J.A.Leonard School earlier this week. Ireland owed $53 on her son's school lunches, and as of this past Monday until the end of the school year, students who owe money on their school lunch accounts won't be fed, that's according to RSU 34 Superintendent David Walker.
