The Maine State Police have arrested an Orland man on drug and assault charges. On Monday, troopers arrested Christopher Wells, 38, after they say he entered a neighbor’s home, assaulted four persons inside and claimed he had killed his mother, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.

2015 Maine Moose Permit Lottery Winners

2,740 permits were allocated over the weekend in Bethel for this year's moose hunt. That is down 11 percent from last year. Most (90 percent) of the permits went to Maine residents.
