Something we all learned in school about the planet Venus is it’s too close to the sun to sustain life and now scientists taking a closer look at the planet confirm it is in a prolonged molten state. Venus has an atmosphere and some water as it was developing, but being so close to the sun, they didn’t last very long.
North Dakota has the distinction of being the state with more bars per capita than any other state in the country. If you want a drink in North Dakota, more the likely, there’s a bar right around the corner. For every 1,620 people, there’s a bar. According to a chart created by INFORM, the land near Canada barely beat out Minnesota who has 1,658 people.
In West Hartford, Connecticut, a woman trying to save her dog from being attacked by a black bear, was attacked herself. The dog, Maggie, was rooting around in bushes in the backyard when the black bear and her two cubs started chasing her. Maggie took off running to the house when Shannon Flannery noticed the dog coming.
UPDATE Saturday 6:15 a.m. EST: The number of reported fatalities is at least five, with another 71 injuries caused by what authorities say are a total of 17 tornadoes ripping through the Midwest on Friday.
Remember the woman in Moore, Oklahoma who found her dog, Boweser, in the rubble during a news report after the devastating tornado last month?
