Maine and all of Northern New England is getting what has turned out to be a treat this spring...sunshine and warmer temperatures. I for one could not be any happier. I dare say I am giddy!
The weather this week has been just what I needed. Sunshine and warmth. Even a few flowers starting to come up in my now snow free yard. I hear we even set records temperatures in Central Maine.
Like many who have been enjoying this warm, summer like weather, I sat down by the river on my lunch break in downtown Augusta, today. The river was quite high, and now the MEMA Site has issued this flood warning.

This latest storm to hit us was called ‘Stella.’ It was a real doozy as far as storms go with high wind and lots of snow. It is amazing how many different words the weathermen used to describe this latest storm.
According to WCSH 6, the area covered by the Blizzard Warning now includes all of the Maine coast and a large portion of Central Maine (Including Augusta and Waterville).
Winter Storm Stella is probably going to dump somewhere between 12 and 18 inches on Central Maine over the next couple days. you know the stores are going to be mobbed later on today. So, what are people buying? Milk? Bread? Allen's Coffee Brandy?
I love The Weather Channel for naming winter storms. The one that is headed our way is 'Stella'. Maine is looking at snow starting Tuesday into Wednesday. Yes, like a foot or so.
