Let's face it. It was doubtful that the Boston Celtics were going to have much of a chance at beating the Cleveland Cavaliers anyway after getting blown out in the first 2 games of the Eastern Conformance Finals, but now the odds just got bigger as all star point guard Isaiah Thomas has been shut down for the season due to injury.

Thomas aggravated an existing injury that team physician Dr. Brian McKeon yesterday termed a right femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) with labral tear in the right hip. Thomas experienced the FAI flare-up in the first half of Friday’s Game 2 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and it was painful and limiting enough to keep him out of the second half.

Game 3 of the series shifts to Cleveland tonight with tip off scheduled for 8:30 PM.

On a happier note for Boston fans, the Celtics did secure the # 1 pick in this years upcoming NBA draft.
