(KJ) -- The Waterville Board of Education will hear a plan from top administrators Wednesday on how to fill the high school principal and assistant principal positions through the end of the school year. According to the KJ, the 5 p.m. meeting will be in the media center at the high school and will follow an annual open house for staff of Waterville schools from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Meanwhile, the police chief in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, said he is waiting to get the Waterville Police Department report on its investigation of Reiter before looking into allegations against Reiter there.

(KJ) -- The Downtown Waterville Winter Farmers’ Market is opening Thursday at its new location in MaineGeneral Thayer Center for Health on North Street after one year downtown. According to the KJ, the move away from downtown was driven by a need for more parking and the farmers market’s relationship with the hospital. The twice-monthly market will be held on the first and third Thursday of the month from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dean conference room in the hospital.The winter market goes from early December until late April. In May, it moves back to its summer location at the Concourse parking lot off Main and Appleton streets.

(AP) — The average retail price of gasoline has gone up nearly a penny per gallon in the past week. GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,228 gas outlets in Maine says prices are averaging $2.19 per gallon. The national average has fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the past week to $2.04 per gallon. Maine gas was about 71 cents more expensive per gallon at this time last year, and it was also 1.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average dipped 14.1 cents per gallon during the last month and is about 73 cents less than a year ago.

(AP) — Maine's winter hunting seasons are getting into full swing as the fall big game hunts wrap up. Tuesday marks the first day of the bobcat hunting season, which runs until Feb. 14. Seasons have also already begun for gray squirrels, snowshoe hares, raccoons and other small game animals. Birds including ruffed grouse, bobwhite quail and pheasant are also in season until the end of December. The firearms season for bear, deer and moose ended on Nov. 28. It's still possible to take deer via archery or muzzleloaders until Dec. 12. Authorities suggest hunters check regulations before hunting.

(WCSH) -- Maine State Prison showroom, which sells items made by inmates, was closed Monday for an unlikely reason -- it was burglarized. Thomaston police said the burglary was reported to police early Monday morning. Police Chief Kevin Haj would not talk about how the showroom was broken into or what was stolen. All the wood products in the showroom, from furniture to crafts to bird feeders, are made by inmates working in one of Maine's prisons. The store will remain closed as authorities investigate. The prison industries program is designed to teach prisoners marketable skills and keep them occupied while serving their time.

(AP) — The man accused of opening fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs Friday, killing three, makes his first court appearance today. Acquaintances say Robert Lewis Dear lived a troubled, isolated life, but that he never hinted that he would target the organization.

(AP) — Hillary Clinton has received a public embrace from 13 female Democratic senators who are endorsing her presidential campaign. Noticeably absent: Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. No reason given.
