A well-known TV station in Bangor is in the process of being sold.

According to their website, Diversified Communication's WABI TV, is in the process of being sold to Gray Communications.  Gray owns 100 stations in 54 U.S. markets.

According to Diversified's Board Chair Daniel Hildreth, “We believe that under the ownership of Gray, WABI and WCJB will have greater opportunities for long-term financial success, which will ultimately benefit both our employees and viewers.”

The first TV station in Maine, WABI TV signed on in January of 1953 and was originally owned by former Maine governor Horace Hildreth.
