Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Wins Car Of The Year: What’s The Best Car You Ever Owned?

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has won Car of the Year honors at the Detroit auto show, while the Chevrolet Silverado was named the show's Truck of the Year.The Corvette Stingray features a 455 horsepower V8 engine and a price tag starting at $51,000.

The Silverado has a base V8 and gets an EPA estimated 19 miles per gallon.

This got me thinking to what the best car was that I ever owned. My first car, which my parents bought me, was a 1976 Chevrolet Malibu. The first car I ever bought on my own was a 1988 Mercury Tracer. I have also owned a 1990 Chevy Lumina, a 1989 Pontiac Firebird, a 2000 Ford Focus and currently own a 2006 Nissan Sentra.

The Sentra was the first brand new car that I have ever owned and it has been the most reliable. The worst thing about it is it is not good in the snow, the tires are very expensive for the size of the car. Other than that, it's been mechanically good.

But my favorite car was the Firebird, fire-engine red, a formula edition, t-tops, 305 engine, great sound system. It wasn't practical to own, storing it in the winter and eventually the t-tops ended up leaking, and it went through alternators, but it's the car that I owned where I have the most memories with.
