The Chicago Cubs have only won two World Series in 1907 and 1908, and they did play in one in 1906, the year they had 116 wins and a percentage rating that still stands today at .763. The Cubs now have the distinction of being one of only three Major League Baseball teams to lose 10,000 games.

When Chicago lost to Atlanta on Sunday, 5-2, they lost their 10,000 game joining the Philadelphia Phillies with 10,480 loses and the Atlanta Braves with 10,176 loses. Right now these are the only three teams with 10,000 loses in franchise history but there are two other teams approaching the mark.

The Pittsburgh Pirates only have to lose 55 more games and the Cincinnati Reds need to lose another 142. It is possible the Pirates could make that mark this year but the Reds will probably have to wait until next year to join the 10,000 club.
