Four Maine Chefs were vying for the title of Lobster Chef of the Year at a competition held at Harvest of the Harbor this past Thursday.  200 guests that were in attendance for the two-hour cook off that saw Chris Long of Natalie’s at The Camden Harbour Inn win it all.

The twist here was that Long beat out his boss, executive chef Jon Gaboric, for the crown.  Long's dish was butter poached lobster with grilled mushrooms, corn and parsnips.

The three judges on hand had a tough time deciding the winner, as judge Abby Freethy on Northwood’s Gourmet Grill said "It was horrible, a difficult decision."

The title of Lobster Chef of the Year comes with a $1,000 cash prize as well as a chef coat and new pair of shoes.
