What an unbelievable weekend of college football with the number one and number two teams losing. #1 Kansas St. lost big to Baylor 52-24 with Heisman hopeful Collin Klein from K-State throwing 3 interceptions. The #2 Oregon Ducks where upset by Stanford in overtime 17-14, the first time this year they scored under 30 points. Not only does the loss squash the hopes of the Ducks to play for a national championship, but they may not win the Pac-12 championship. If Stanford and Oregon both win next week, because of the head to head win, Stanford would win the Pac-12.

The last time the #1 and #2 team lost on the same weekend was 2007, but the with both Kansas State and Oregon losing this weekend it has sent Notre Dame to the #1 spot in the college football polls. Notre Dame shut out Wake Forest 38-0 on senior day in South Bend. The fighting Irish play USC next week and with a win, they will be in the National Title game. With #1 and #2 going down it brings new hope to Alabama, who lost last week to Texas A&M and got knocked out of the #1 spot. The new BSC ranking should have Alabama back at #2 with Notre Dame as #1. How far K-State and Oregon will fall is yet to be seen.
