Cony High football standout and Fitzpatrick Trophy winner Ben Lucas was one of 16 football players to sign a letter of intent to play football at the University of Maine.Lucas had a record-breaking season with Cony High School in Augusta. He completed 225 of 373 pass attempts for 3,357 yards, with 41 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Cony also won the state title came with a win over Kennebunk.

The 6'4, 230-pound Lucas has a high school career of 7,575 passing yards with 89 touchdown passes.

Another native Mainer, Dexter Turner of South Paris, a defensive tackle, signed a letter of intent with UMaine.
