It's another 'cooking for guys' post! These are simple and quick meals to make. I also try to make it a good value as well, with prices of everything going up, I look for the most bang for my buck.

Football season is here and this 'Cooking for Guys' is a favorite of mine to make on Sundays. Here's my easy take on chili. I use a chili mix, water, a small can of tomato paste, a pound of ground turkey, an onion and a green pepper.

Add 7 cups of water into a large pot and bring to boil, add the chili mix and the can of tomato paste and reduced to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes. As that is simmering, in a frying pan, mix in the ground turkey and onions and peppers. Once the turkey is cooked, add it into the chili and stir occasionally. I prefer my chili to be thick, so I'll reduce the water amount slightly or let it simmer for a few extra minutes. Once the chili is done, let it cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Add shredded or grated cheese on top and enjoy! This will make 6 to 7 large bowls of chili, the total cost of the ingredients are around $9. That's about $1.50 per bowl. Enjoy the chili and enjoy the football season!
