Country News: CMA Awards Show Presenters Named
The CMA Awards on November 8th will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and now the ‘presenters’ for the show have been announced. According to theboot.com some of the people that will help hand out trophies are: Lauren Alaina, Brett Young (both New Artist of the Year Award Nominees), Trisha Yearwood, Dustin Lynch and Luke Combs. There are a lot more too including non-country stars like Tyler Perry and Jimmie Johnson.
Two dozen or so country artists on the Webster Public Relations roster are leaving publicist and owner Kirt Webster after allegations of sexual misconduct have surfaced. According to tasteofcountry.com the list includes Dolly Parton, Kid Rock, Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Randy Travis, Billy Ray Cyrus, Justin Moore, Big & Rich, Kenny G and more. Nashville's Metro Police will not pursue sexual assault charges against Kirt Webster due to an expired statute of limitations.
The reboot of American Idol was in Georgia recently scouting out talent for the show when judge Luke Bryan found out about a wedding that was taking place about two miles away from where they were, so he decided to crash the party. On tasteofcountry.com Byran heard the couple was big fans of his so he snuck up on the couple on the dance floor as they were dancing to Bryan’s song ‘Crash My Party.’ He popped some champagne, gave a toast and had a sing-a-long with “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).’
