Country News: Crystal Gayle Become the Latest Opry Member

Blake Shelton will be getting some help from his good friend Luke Bryan during Season 12 of The Voice: Bryan will serve as Team Blake’s mentor.

Shelton has asked Bryan to mentor his The Voice team a number of times before; however, Bryan’s schedule has never worked out, until this year, when filming was rearranged. Season 12 of The Voice will begin on February 27 on NBC. Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys will all return as coaches, while Gwen Stefani (previously a coach during Season 7 and Season 9) is replacing Miley Cyrus.

Lady Antebellum and Tyler Farr are joining an all-star group of country artists set to perform at Super Bowl events in 2017. The two country favorites will take the stage at an exclusive pre-game party right before Super Bowl LI at Houston’s NRG Stadium. Luke Bryan will handle National Anthem duties.

Country icon Loretta Lynn was on hand to help induct her sister, Crystal Gayle, into the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday (Jan. 21).  Gayle made her Grand Ole Opry debut 50 years ago when she was 16 years old. Lynn became a member of the Opry in 1962.
