Country News: Glen Campbell Passes Away

After his battle with Alzheimer’s disease Glen Campbell died yesterday (Aug.8) at the age of 81. Campbell not only was a star in country music but also pop music, television and films. Campbell started his career in Los Angeles as a studio musician and played on recording for The Monkees, Dean Martin, Merle Haggard, Simon and Garfunkel and more. According to tasteofcountry.com he went on to become a superstar with a sting of hit songs from 1967 to 1976. No funeral plans have be announced.

Tasteofcountry.com tells us that Miley Cyrus has asked her father Billy Ray Cyrus to be her team advisor on the upcoming season 13 of the voice. Adam Levine’s advisor will be Joe Jonas, Blake Shelton will have Rascal Flatts and Jennifer Hudson will team with Kelly Rowland. Season 13 begins September 25.

Kelly Clarkson, Kelsea Ballerini and Cam took to social media in support of each other. Each wrote about how much they liked the other and that gave Clarkson an idea, the three should get together at some point and record together. According to the tasteofcountry.com Clarkson said she was a big fan of both of them and ‘this calls for a beautiful trio performance at some point.’
