Country News: Kelsea Ballerini’s Fiancé Gets a U.S. Record Deal

Kelsea Ballerini’s fiance, Morgan Evans, has a record deal in the U.S. Evans joins fellow labelmates from Warner Music Nashville, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge and Dan + Shay. Evans, from Australia, has three number one songs in that country as well as a Country Music Association Global Artist Award. According to theboot.com, there is no word on when his first U.S. album will be released.

It been a little over a year since the death of Glen Frey from The Eagles and there is a new member of the band, Frey’s son Deacon. Frey’s son will hit the road with the band this summer. Eagles founding member Don Henley said Deacon has been working hard getting ready to tour and is looking forward to it. After the death of Glen Frey, according to theboot.com, Henley said there would be no chance the band would reunite but he later hinted, if they did, the only person that would be a suitable stand-in for Glen would be Deacon.

A story on theboot.com says ahead of the release of ABC’s remake of the classic movie Dirty Dancing, Lady Antebellum have announced that they’ve contributed a song to the film’s soundtrack. The country trio covered Bruce Channel’s ‘Hey Baby,’ which also appears in the original movie. The updated version of Dirty Dancing, which was originally released in 1987 and starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, will star Katey Sagal, Sarah Hyland, Debra Messing and Abigail Breslin. The three-hour TV musical will air on May 24 at 8PM ET, in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary.
