Country News: Loretta Lynn Recovering From Stroke

Loretta Lynn had a stroke on May 5 and her sister Crystal Gayle says she is in good hands and she is asking fans to keep the prayers coming. When news of the stroke broke Lynn’s reps said she was expected to make a full recovery. Lynn’s daughter, granddaughter and assistant say she is getting better every day. According to theboot.com, doctors have advised Lynn to stay off the road while recuperating, so all of her upcoming shows have been postponed. Loretta Lynn is 85.

Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren are parents of their adopted daughter from Africa. They welcomed their daughter, Willa Gray Akins on Friday, May 11. On theboot.com they say the adoption process started in 2016 and now that they have their little girl they say it feels like everyone is where their supposed to be. ‘Willa’ is African that translates to ‘blessing.’

Inspired by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital country star Toby Keith funded and built the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City. The facility in Oklahoma helps take care of children battling cancer and their families. Keith gets a lot of request from other charities but he says the Kids Korral is a $20 million facility and he keeps focused on the Korral to make sure it has everything it needs.
