Margo Price is the winner of the 2017 American Music Prize, which recognizes the year's best debut album. Friends, family and employees from her record label her with the news at Third Man’s Blue Room in Nashville; she was told that she needed to be there for a business meeting. The American Music Prize aims to encourage, discover, reward and promote new music of excellence by USA artists. Before signing with her record company, Price sold her car and pawned her wedding ring to help pay to record Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. She can buy it all back now as she won a $25,000 cash prize.

The music world will be reintroduced to the late Joey Feek in the form of a new solo album, If Not for You, to be released on April 7. Husband Rory Feek and Gaither Music Group have teamed up to allow the traditional country album to see the light of day. The 12-song collection begins with a cameo from her parents, Jack and June Martin. It also includes the original version of Joey+Rory’s “That’s Important to Me.” Copies will include a 48-page insert with photos and stories written by the Feeks and Joey’s family.
