The fatal helicopter ride that killed Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry was a spur of the moment thing. According to people.com experts are preparing a preliminary report, which will explain the details of the crash and will be released to the public soon. Shortly after takeoff the pilot did tell the airport he was having difficulty controlling the engine. A celebration of life event in Gentry’s honor is scheduled for Thursday September 14 at the Grand Ole Opry House and is open to the public.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been added as performers for the ‘Hand in Hand’ benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Harvey. The couple will join Blake Shelton, who will host the event, Gwen Stefani, Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman. On theboot.com they say the one hour telecast will be live from Nashville, California, New York and San Antonio, Texas. Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief will air on tonight (Sept. 12) at 8PM ET on CMT, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.
