Country News: Shania Twain Exhibit Headed to Hall
Hank Williams Jr. has plans to be on the road throughout 2017. The country star has shared the first of his 2017 tour dates. Hank Jr. will begin his time on the road in 2017 on Feb. 3, at the Peppermill Concert Hall in West Wendover, Nevada. Nothing in the first release of concerts has him come close to Maine.
The Country Music Hall of Fame will highlight Shania Twain‘s life and career in an exhibit beginning in the summer of 2017. Set to run from June 26, 2017, through June 17, 2018, Twain’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit will look back at the country star’s massive popularity in the 1990s and early 2000s, including her arena tours and smash-hit albums. Twain, in 2016, was named the CMT Artist of a Lifetime and Billboard‘s Women in Music Icon. She has won five Grammys and sold more than 75 million albums worldwide throughout her career; her album Come on Over, released in 1997, is still the best-selling country album of all time, as well as the top-selling album by a female artist of any genre of all time.
Miranda Lambert will begin her 2017 Highway Vagabond Tour on Jan. 26 — but a few lucky fans will get to see the country superstar in concert two days early. Lambert has announced a club show, billed as a ‘rehearsal’ for her arena trek. On Jan. 24, Lambert and her band will perform at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, Illinois. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Miranda Lambert Women Creators Fund, a scholarship for female Belmont University students pursuing careers in the music industry.
