Willie Nelson is alive and well and planning on his 44hth annual Fourth of July Picnic. The four decade tradition will welcome dozens of artists to perform in celebration of America’s birthday. Some artists joining Nelson this year will be Kacey Musgraves, Jamey Johnson, Asleep at the Wheel, Sheryl Crow, David Alan Coe and many more. According to tasteofcountry.com the event will be held at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Scotty McGreery received an award from his home state of North Carolina. Scotty was presented the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award. The award is given to a person that shows exemplary service to the State of North Carolina and their communities. Dolly Parton has earned two awards for her made-for-TV movie Christmas of Many Colors. She won a trophy in the TV and Cable category at the 68th annual Christopher Awards and from Movieguide she won the Epiphany Prize for Television for her popular, wholesome and uplifting movie. According to movieguideawards.com Parton’s made-for-TV movie received the award as the most inspiring TV Program.
