Fresh off a World Series win, David Ortiz, certainly is popular in Boston. So much so, that he finished in third place on the ballot in the Boston mayoral election. There were 560 write-in votes in the election, it’s unclear how many votes were for David Ortiz, but he had the most write-in votes.

The winning and new mayor of Boston, Martin Walsh, received 72,514 votes.

Next election, I’ll volunteer to be David Ortiz’ campaign manager and we’ll bring it home!
