Days Off In Maine VS Days Off In California

Well I can finally say i've experienced real snow. Yesterday i walked out to my car after work, stepped in a pile, and snow went in my show causing me to experience the coldest feeling i've ever felt. Today I spent 30 minutes taking snow off a vehicle, and I found out just about every school in the state is out of school today. Which got me thinking, why was school ever cancelled for San Diegans. Only one thing came to mind: Fire.

I remember an entire week in high school when there was a fire so bad, we were told to stay indoors so we didn't breathe smoke in. In fact the week before I moved here in December, I had friends and family who had to be evacuated from their homes because the fire was so close. So if I were to choose between the 2, I would gladly choose snow days.
