Trevor Bayne shocked the racing world when he won the Daytona 500 in his second career start during the 2011 season. Since that win, he has been dealing with many health issues. After dealing with many doctors and specialists for two years, the 22-year old Bayne has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. According to Nate Ryan of USA TODAY.

Bayne has raced a full season in the Nationwide Series with the Roush Fenway racing team and is in sixth in the Nationwide standings. Bayne has also raced in 11 Sprint Cup races this season.

Bayne plans on racing a full Nationwide schedule in 2014 for Roush Fenway Racing.

Multiple sclerosis could lead to significant issues within the central nervous system. There is no cure for MS, with that being said, the disease can be managed and Bayne is determined to continue his NASCAR career.
