Deadline for Maine’s Deer Lottery Due Today (8-15-18)

The deadline for Maine's deer lottery is today (Wednesday, August 15).

Applications are due my 11:59 p.m. but this year there are thousands more permits available. The state is giving out 84,745 permits which is a 28 per cent increase over last year.

The reason more permits are available this year is because deer had a strong year for survival over the winter.

The permits are any deer permits which allows hunters to bag deer of either sex. According to usnews.com the drawing for the permits will take place on September 7 and will be posted on the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website.
