Denver County Fair To Celebrate Legal Recreational Marijuana

How fun? To me, this seems the next natural step for Denver, Colorado, where recreational use of pot is legal.  Denver County Fair will a joint-rolling contest (done with oregano, not the real thing), the Best Homemade Bong contest, dioramas made with Peeps and a Drag Queen Contest! Oh ya, there will be judging of the plants in the same way fairs judge other crops.

That will be done off site and the Denver County Fair’s ‘Pot Pavilion’ will be an 21 and over event and that no actual marijuana will be present on-site.

I have no issues what so ever with the legal use of marijuana. There are so many ‘bad’ or ‘unhealthy’ things we have legal access to every day, I don’t really understand why it pot is such a big deal. You don’t like it, don’t do it.  Not to mention, the plant has so many redeeming qualities.

I am fascinated by all the other uses of marijuana/cannabis. I am not only talking about medical marijuana, but the hemp/cannabis plant and its products. Hemp can be refined into products such as hemp seed foods, hemp oil, wax, resin, rope, cloth, pulp, paper and fuel. Hemp is being used to ‘eat’ the radioactive at Chernobyl.

I really think it is a plant that deserves a second look at how it can work for us!
