The 4th Annual Benton Alewife Festival will be happening this Friday and Saturday. The town will celebrate the migration of millions of alewives up the Sebasticook River.

Events will begin on Friday evening with an Eating with the Alewives dinner at the Benton Grange.

Saturday will feature fun throughout the day. The festival begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Benton Family Fun Park with free mini golf and batting cages until 4 p.m.

At 2 p.m. on Saturday there is a live raptor presentation at the Benton Town Office Park by the group Wind over Wings, featuring owls, eagles and hawks. There is also a canoe and kayak race at 2 pm. Events wrap up Saturday at 7 p.m. with a public supper at the Benton Falls Church followed by fireworks.
