Maine is known for it's lobsters, potatoes and apples, but my favorite native food has to be blueberries! This is the peak of blueberry season in Maine and this weekend you can celebrate the blueberry at the 39th annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival.

The festival will be this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday will feature a flea market, blueberry farm tour, fish fry dinner, children's parade and entertainment.

Saturday and Sunday will feature a blueberry pie-eating contest, raffles, live music and plenty of awesome food! Fireworks will be going on Saturday night at 9 p.m. on the causeway across the Middle River.

The festival also features the 'Blackfly Ball' on Saturday night at Bad Little Falls Park, it will feature about a dozen bands performing on four stages.
