Dick’s Sporting Goods Removes Rifles From Stores
Dick’s Sporting Goods has pulled ‘modern sporting rifles’ from it’s stores, days after the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. According to cnn.com a statement posted on the company’s website said that “during this time of national mourning”, it had removed all guns from it’s store nearest to Newtown and “suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chainwide.”
Dick’s Sporting Goods has 511 stores in 44 states, including 4 in Maine, in Augusta, Bangor, South Portland and Topsham. Dick’s did not specify how long the sale of modern sporting rifles would be suspended.
