As reported by usatoday.com the sporting goods giant, Dick's Sporting Goods has decide to pull all hunting related items... guns, sights, bows, arrows. Apparently declining sales in that market segment are to blame. Although many feel it is simply a response to the pressure felt after the recent mass shooter attacks. The chain maintains it is really a question of sales and profitability with sports like soccer and baseball expanding football and hunting just aren't keeping up with consumer demands.

Currently only 10 of the 732 Dick's stores have removed everything hunting related, none of those stores are in Maine however, the CEO, Edward Stack has indicated that he may extend that across all stores.
