Maybe this petition doesn't effect you directly, maybe it does.  Nonetheless, it is an important issue that needs to be addressed.  I've shared stories about my mom, who is blind.  President Obama planned to make it a requirement for websites to be accessible to those with disabilities, such as the blind and visually impaired.  He said that this would be “the most important updates to the ADA since its original enactment.”

These regulations would have happened already. But now won't come out until 2018, after President Obama is out of office.  2018 is merely too long for anybody to have to wait.  PLEASE CLICK HERE AND SIGN THE PETITION .

According to the petition:

People with disabilities struggle to do everyday tasks such as banking, purchasing goods, and more. Inaccessible websites also hinder our education and employment. Website developers need guidance on how to comply with the law. Failing to provide that guidance is irresponsible and inconsistent with your commitment to civil rights. We demand that you issue the regulations immediately.

I'm sure there are some people asking how blind and visually impaired people can 'see' or use the internet.  There are special computer screen readers that are installed.  These programs will read the webpage and the user will utilize the keyboard to move around the page.  But, unfortunately, not all websites are accessible to these screen readers.

THANK  YOU
