There are T.V. channels starting that are made for dogs to watch with programming specifically made for K-9’s. This has nothing to do with the new channels, but dogs are watching more T.V. The thing that is making a dog stare at the screen more has to do with the way a dog’s eye works and the recent advancement of flat screen T.V’s.

The old standard television set had a resolution of 55Hz, and to a dog’s eye anything under 75Hz is more of a flicker than a picture, but the increase of high-resolution digital screens means the resolution has increased, thus images are less likely to flicker to a dog’s eye. Dogs seem the most interested in live animal shows and least interest in cartoon animal shows. That’s because cartoon animals don’t have the same movement as live animals therefore Fido doesn’t want to watch.
