October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.  We had Lynne Dailey along with Nan Bell from Family Violence Project on the Morning Buzz earlier this week.  They have a big schedule coming up with many events to raise awareness with domestic violence.

One of the events is "Dining to End Domestic Violence" which features area restaurants.  A portion of the proceeds from the restaurants will be donated to Family Violence Project.

October 9th there will be wine tasting at Amici's Cucina in Waterville.  They will feature musician, Mike Reny, from 5-7pm.  October 14th you can listen to Samantha Lynn from 6-8pm and enjoy great food at Joseph's Fireside Steakhouse in Waterville.  October 15th  from 11am-9pm you can enjoy Riverfront BBQ & Grill in Augusta.  October 16th, Chelsea Bee will be performing at Cancun Mexican Restaurant in Waterville from 6-8pm.  Silver Street Tavern in Waterville will have the Resistance from 6-8pm.  October 23rd, Bill Cameron will be featured at The End Zone in Waterville from 6-8pm.  For the entire month of October Holly & Doug's Restaurant in Norridgewock and Ken's Family Restaurant in Skowhegan (from open to close) will donate a portion of its proceeds.

You can find out about other activites and events going on throughout the month at The Family Violence Project.  And, if you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence call the Helpline: 1-877-890-7788.  It takes a community to end domestic violence and silence hides the violence.  Speak out!
