Donn Fendler, Author Of Lost On A Mountain In Maine, Has Passed Away

His story has been an inspiration to many.  On July 17, 1939, Donn Fendler was separated from his family near the summit of Mt. Katahdin during a storm.  Battling the elements, not properly dressed, Fendler spent 9 days trying to find help.  When he was found, he was dehydrated, covered in bug bites and had lost almost 16 pounds.  

Fendler shared his experience by writing 'Lost On A Mountain In Maine' detailing his journey for those 9 days.  He was 12 years old when that happened.

Sadly, Donn Fendler passed away over the weekend.  He was 90 years old.

He will be sadly missed.
