I hate when butter is frozen. It’s hard to spread and usually rips the bread apart. You can leave the butter in a butter dish and it will soften, but if you forget and have to take a fresh stick out of the fridge, it hard.

You can put it in a microwave and melt it a little but sometimes it melts too much. Check out this video, this is a way to  soften butter in about 10 minutes that doesn’t compromise its texture. while you are preparing your meal the butter will soften.
