Epi Pen at a Fraction of the Price: Check this Out

CVS is now selling a generic version Mylan’s EpiPen at about a sixth of its price!  So that means it will cost you about $100 verses $600. Check this out! 

First of all, CVS says you should talk to your pharmacist or your doctor to see IF this is a good fit for your medical needs.

You do need your Doc to write the Rx for an "epinephrine auto-injector" to ensure the lowest–cost product is filled. Patients who already have a prescription on file with CVS Pharmacy can ask their pharmacist to check with the prescriber about making the change.

I did check out Mylan’s EpiPen web site and they do offer their own generic that cuts the cost in half, so based on  what I have read that would make it about $300 versus the $600.

The CBS Boston story I was reading was pointing out there has been great interest in the quick increase of the cost of epipens over the last few years making them out of reach for many who need them.
