You could win around 47 acres of land in Whitefield, Maine just by writing a short essay and $100.

It's all with the Maine Land Essay contest. 3,500 applications are being taken and you can enter through June 11, 2015.

$10,000 from the entry fees will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Here's what they want, the essay must have no more than 200 words, be written in English, and must address the subject 'Why I would like to own land in Whitefield, Maine'. Submissions must be original. They'll be judged on wit, human interest, expression of thought, creativity, and originality.
