Maine state trooper Eric Paquette noticed something a bit strange this week on a vehicle recently in Greene. He spotted a fake license plate. It wasn't just fake...it was a fake to end all fakes.

The forged plate was on the mini-van of Susan Powell of Albany Township and it was hand- drawn. It was actually just two pieces of heavy paper taped together with numbers written in black magic marker.

Paquette told the Lewiston the Sun Journal that he has spotted many fake plates, but that this was the first hand-drawn one. it was "of very poor quality."

Powell, by the way, denies making the fake plate. She now has a court date in Androscoggin County Superior Court.
