The Top Ten on American Idol performed songs from the top ten of the charts from 2011 to today. Country music was well represented last night, with songs by Florida Georgia Line and Hunter Hayes being sung. So how did the top ten do?1. M.K. she sang Perfect by Pink and she blew it big time. M.K. lost her place in the middle of the song and the last half of her performance was truly cringe worthy.

2. Dexter, it sure seems like Dexter always sings early in the show, Dexter takes on Cruise by Florida Georgia Line and he tries to change it up with a stripped down start to the song and then to kick it in. Dexter never really amped up the energy enough and Harry Connick Jr. called him on it.

3. Jena sang 'Clarity' and vocally she was good. The performance was borderline cheesy with Jena saying 'come on' and the crowd having glow sticks. But overall, this was a good job.

4. Alex, Jo Dee Messina's cousin, did great! He sang 'Story of my Life' by One Direction and even though he looks like he's having a seizure while he's singing, vocally he did a good job. Alex, could be a contender.

5. Malaya, sings Bruno Mars 'When I Was Your Man' and she doesn't change the gender of the song in her performance. Vocally she was solid, I still find her too immature to win the show.

6. Caleb sings Lady Gaga and it was good but not the caliber of his past performances. He seemed to force the delivery of the song and Keith called it 'lumbering' and Jennifer said 'it lacked feeling'. I agree.

7. C.J. sings 'Invisible' by Hunter Hayes, I didn't think song was a top 10 song yet. C.J. had the emotion of the song and it really could have been a moment for him, but vocally C.J. was way off.

8. Jessica sings Foster The People and Pumped Up Kicks and she almost countrified it. I liked it, so did Keith and Jennifer. Harry said Jessica has become 'one dimensional' ouch!

9. Majesty sings 'Wake Me Up'. The only version of the song I had heard was Dierks Bentley singing the song. Apparently Majesty changed up the song. I thought she was good not great. Keith didn't like her version of it.

10. Sam sings 'We Are Young' It was in tune with good vocals. Sam lacks the passion, heck he's only 17, vocally Sam could have been the best of the night, the overall performance wasn't as good.

It will be interesting to see who the bottom three will be tonight. My guess, M.K., Dexter and C.J. with M.K. leaving (unless the judges use the save)

Here are Dexter and C.J. with their performances from last night.
