Former Senator from Maine George Mitchell was on 'Sunday Morning' on CBS News.

The Waterville native served as Senate Majority Leader, Middle East negotiator and Chairman of the Board of the Walt Disney Company. He also led the investigation into steroid use in Major League Baseball. Former President Bill Clinton wanted to make him a Supreme Court Justice, but Mitchell turned down the court in 1994.

He called this summer's historic handshake between Queen Elizabeth and former IRA Chief Martin McGuinness, now a top official in Northern Ireland, his most significant achievement. He told Rita Braver of CBS News:

"I realized how historical it was..I felt it. Everyone was aware of the historical significance of what we were doing."
