One day after he was charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old Massachusetts man, published reports say former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez is now under investigation in connection with a July 2012 double murder in Boston.

According to, law enforcement sources said Hernandez is being investigated for a possible connection to the murder of two men in Boston last July. The story said investigators believe that Odin Lloyd, the man whose murder Hernandez was charged with on June 26, may have had some information about Hernandez's role in the July 2012 murders.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree murder and several firearms charges in Attleboro (Mass.) District Court, he was ordered held without bail.

On June 27, Hernandez appeared before a judge in Bristol County Superior Court to appeal that decision, but his appeal was denied.
