Bill Clinton will be campaigning in Maine for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud. The former U.S. president will be attending an evening rally for Michaud and the state Democratic party at Portland’s waterfront Ocean Gateway facility Tuesday, Sept. 2.

According to an announcement by the Michaud campaign, Clinton “will showcase why Michaud is the best candidate to lead Maine and bring Democrats, Republicans and independents together to strengthen Maine’s economy and create jobs.”

Congressman Michaud is running against incumbent Republican Gov. Paul LePage and independent Eliot Cutler. Michaud is currently in a virtual dead heat with LePage and Cutler, according to the latest polls.

Tickets to the event are free, however RSVP is required. To get in the photo line with the former president it will cost you $1000.
