Fox Sports 1, a new sports network will flip the switch this Saturday, August 17, and begin broadcasting 24 hours a day. Talent on the network includes Regis Philbin, Donavan McNabb, Andy Roddick and Gary Payton who will be in the studio for Fox Sports Live, but the network has secured major sports programming as well.

The new network will broadcast NASCAR, Major League Baseball, U.S.Open golf and college football from Conference USA, the Big 12 and PAC 12. The problem Fox Sports 1 has is they have not been signed on by top cable and satellite providers. Time Warner Cable, DirecTV and Dish Network make up 54 percent of subscription television and without those companies, Fox Sports 1 will have a tough time competing against ESPN. Many times though, deals between distributors and broadcast companies go down to the last minute, so there is still time for the new sports network to cut a deal before their first broadcast.
