The grand opening was held yesterday for the new home for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce in its new office in front of the Walmart store in Farmington. Walmart manager Greg Patterson told the Lewsiton Sun-Journal that he approached the corporation's home office last year with the idea of renting the small office space, accessible only from outside the store, to the chamber.Patterson added that it's a 'win-win situation'. Patterson said that the kiosks, filled with the brochures of chamber members, can't be kept filled.

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce President, Scoot Landry, says that the chamber is getting a good deal from Walmart. They received free rent from October 1, when it moved into the office, through January.

The chamber was previously at the C.N.Brown building and that saving money was one reason for the move.
