If you thought it was getting awfully cold early this year, you are correct! The National Weather Service has posted a 'freeze warning' for a large part of Maine. So dig out the winter coats, wool hats, gloves and the scrapers! The average high and low temperature for October 12th in Augusta is 59 for the high and 41 for the low. We'll have lows in the mid 20's tonight and we might break the all time low of 24 degrees set in 1956.

So get the firewood in, have the furnance ready and make some soup for dinner and get ready for the cold blast. Of course, in Maine, if you don't like the weather just wait a minute. It's forecasted to be 70 degrees on Monday!
