Bill Goodwin has been a fixture around the Augusta area for as far back as I can remember. And when anybody has needed help, Bill is often the first person to step up.

Now it is time to help him out.

This August, Billy was diagnosed with extensive small cell lung cancer. He is going through chemotherapy and facing a tough time ahead both physically and financially.

A group of his friends have gotten together and have decided to give Billy a “Boost” to let him know that he has a support network of friends and family who are there for him during this trying time.

There will be a fundraiser this Sunday, November 13 from 4-7 PM at the Calumet Club in Augusta, to help ease some of the financial burden that goes along with an extended illness. They are asking for a suggested $10 donation at the door. Any funds collected will go to help offset Billy's mounting medical bills. Live music, appetizers and cash bar will be available.

If you are unable to attend, but still would like to donate, there is a gofundme link set up on the event facebook page.
